Why and How We Created Your CorporateCounsel Advantage™

  About five years ago, our founding partner, Steve Riley, was working WAY to hard and taking home less and less money each year. Expenses were through the roof. It seemed we kept hiring more team members to handle all of the many details. This was cutting into Steve's net profit. Even though we had more clients and more team, he seemed to be working more and more hours to cover payroll and respond to all of our clients' needs!

  We finally figured that there had to be a better way to bring in more revenue without tripling the amount of work we had to do. Your CorporateCounsel Advantage™ was created as a client services platform to help us to do just that!

  Now, Steve and our team are working less but bringing in more revenue. We have a dependable, renewable income stream of annual fees each year. We work with the best clients, the ones who we actually enjoy working with and who appreciate us. and best of all, pay on time! We work with fewer clients, but gain more legal work from our existing clients. Our clients are better served and our team is better prepared to serve them with a great system in place to support them. Our team even wants training on how to market the Your CorporateCounsel Advantage™ to clients they are so excited about it.

  Now, of course, when we first created the Program it wasn't perfect. We were designing something unique and had to create the systems as we progressed. With any new project, at first it seems confusing and cumbersome. After a year, we almost called it quits. We had a ton of buy sell agreements, operating agreements, and the like sitting around waiting for us to prepare them. We had no good system in place to create these corporate documents and were missing our turn around promises to our clients. (In retrospect, what a problem to have. too much work waiting to get paid for!) We had almost decided that it wasn't worth the hassle of all this new work to do and were going to cancel the program. Before we made the final call, we decided to run the numbers to see what revenue was generated from the program before we called it quits. And, were we surprised! In a year of unfocused effort at this new program we had retained 10 business owner clients in the program. These 10 business owners were pretty average in the sense that they were not huge, million dollar grossing companies. They ranged from start up LLCs holding real estate investments to family owned companies or 2-3 partner companies.

  At the time the largest business in the program had about 30 employees. That year, we were shocked to discover we grossed $157,095 in revenue from these 10 clients! We just needed to create a good system for the behind the scenes work. So, we put some time and effort into systemizing the entire Your CorporateCounsel Advantage™ process, from scripts on how to explain the program to clients, to template forms and letters. We also gave some attention to the systems to create our buy sell agreements, operating agreements, and the like. Now we have a complete operations manual!

  And most importantly, Steve is working less, making more money, the same amount of team can process triple the work due to our training and systems, and our clients are so satisfied with the program they have become our #1 referral source!
